David Levithan is an American author of young adult fiction. He has written over 20 books, including Boy Meets Boy, Every Day, and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. His books have been translated into over 30 languages and have won numerous awards, including the Lambda Literary Award and the National Book Award.

Levithan was born in 1972 in Short Hills, New Jersey. He graduated from Brown University in 1994 with a degree in English. After college, he worked as an editor at Scholastic Press. He is currently the editorial director of PUSH, a young adult imprint of Scholastic Press.
