Darren E. Laws is a British author who was born in East London in 1962. He won first place in a short story competition for a BBC Radio 4 arts program in the mid-1990s. This inspired him to write short stories of a dark and quirky nature before progressing to lengthier works. His first novel, Turtle Island, a crime thriller, was picked up by an American publisher. He is now a seasoned author with two other novels published, Tripping and Dark Country.
