Claire Fagin was an American nurse, educator, and administrator. She was born in New York City in 1926 and earned her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in nursing from Wagner College, Columbia University, and New York University, respectively.
Fagin served as dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing from 1977 to 1991 and was the first woman to hold that position. She was also the first woman to serve as interim president of the University of Pennsylvania from 1993 to 1994.
