China Miéville is a British writer of speculative fiction. He was born in Norwich, England, in 1972. He studied social anthropology at Cambridge University and international relations at the London School of Economics. His first novel, King Rat, was published in 1998. He has since written several more novels, including Perdido Street Station, The Scar, and Embassytown. Miéville's work has won numerous awards, including the Arthur C.
