Maureen Medved is a Canadian writer, playwright, and screenwriter. She is also an Associate Professor in the Creative Writing Program at the University of British Columbia.

Medved's first novel, The Tracey Fragments, was published in 1998 and was adapted into a film in 2000. Her second novel, Black Star, was published in 2018.

Medved has also written essays on television and film for the magazine Herizons. Her work has been distributed and performed world-wide.
