Matthew Henry was born in 1662 in Wales. He was a Nonconformist minister and author. He is best known for his six-volume biblical commentary Exposition of the Old and New Testaments. Henry was ordained in 1687 and served as pastor of a Presbyterian congregation in Chester until his death in 1714. His commentary is still widely used today and is considered to be one of the most comprehensive and helpful commentaries on the Bible ever written.
