My dad had limitations. That's what my good-hearted mom always told us. He had limitations, but he meant no harm. It was kind of her to say, but he did do harm.
As to diseases, make a habit of two things — to help, or at least, to do no harm.
Generally speaking, books don't cause much harm. Except when you read them, that is. Then they cause all kinds of problems.
